The Renowned Musician Urges Support to Propel Palestinian Solidarity Lullaby to UK Festive Top Spot.

A charity drive is aiming to launch a traditional song from Palestine to the peak of the festive singles chart. The campaign hopes to provide aid to people in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Chance for Unity and an "Surprise Victory"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to stand with Palestinians during the holidays. He acknowledged the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be fantastic if that happened, yes,” he commented. “I wouldn't be completely disheartened if it doesn’t, holiday tracks are a unique phenomenon.”

Resilient Spirit of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the reimagining of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's defiant core message.

“The song holds a very special place for many individuals,” Barghouti explained. “The essence is that I would prefer a dignified death than exist without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we want to live a dignified life that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Production History and Featured Artists

The song was recorded after a large-scale benefit event held in late summer. Initially planned to be captured during the live event, the performance was shelved during the concert due to the event running long.

The impressive roster of artists contributing to Lullaby features a group of acclaimed names from the industry. All participated in the September show, which managed to collect a considerable total for relief efforts.

Production and Release

Lullaby was brought to life by a trio of music creators. The song blends a combination of the heritage language with new English lyrics.

The group managing the project have clarified that their goal is to generate maximum funds for a dedicated fund. These resources will be channeled to projects in Palestine through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We haven't set a specific target,” a representative commented. “We’ll go for the maximum achievable. Naturally, the higher the total, the greater the impact. Every penny goes out to the people of Gaza.”

The situation in the area was described as its widespread damage, with a vast majority of buildings described as destroyed or damaged.

“In that context, a handful of millions is unlikely to make a massive dent. But I think what truly matters is first of all raising awareness for this issue and proving that another narrative exists.”

The track is scheduled for release on Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the charity concert will be made available for streaming on a digital service from the 19th of December.
