Spurs Manager Frank Calls Vicario Critics 'Not True Real Supporters'
Fulham Start Strong to Defeat Tottenham and Raise Pressure on the Manager
Tottenham Hotspur fans who booed goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario were informed later "they cannot be real Tottenham supporters" by manager Thomas Frank.
Spurs conceded a pair of scores in the opening six minutes to lose 2-1 to their opponents, marking their 10th top-flight home loss of 2025.
However the primary topic of discussion was the visitors' second score when the keeper gave away the ball far beyond his area.
The goalkeeper came out to deal with a long ball and took the ball towards the sideline.
But, rather than kicking it into touch, the Italian turned and tried to clear, but slipped as the ball glanced off Harry Wilson and was controlled by King.
King passed the ball off to Welsh midfield player Wilson, who bent a shot into the net from the sideline measured at 36.6 metres.
Seconds afterwards when the ball came to the keeper once more, a number of Tottenham fans booed him.
The team were booed off at the interval, with the side 2-0 down, and again at full-time.
One of those booing episodes really irritated Frank.
"It came to my attention some of our supporters apparently booed the situation and booed after, which, in my opinion is totally unjustifiable," the Dane commented about the supporters' reaction to his goalkeeper.
"Those individuals cannot be true Tottenham fans that act that way. Alright jeering following the match, fine, but when we are playing, we are supporting each other, we are behind one another going forward."
Tete had handed the visitors a fourth-minute lead prior to Harry Wilson's goal – with Mohammed Kudus scoring for Tottenham in an improved second period performance.
Former top-flight keeper Joe Hart remarked that the next goal was "completely preventable".
"I certainly understand the supporters' disappointment," Hart continued. "I know the part the keeper is playing. He's a great team player, he's a true figure in the locker room but in the end you are going to be assessed by your decisions.
"The keeper was heavily involved in what turned out to be the winning score."

Frank Defended His Keeper Guglielmo Vicario After the Game
Italy international Vicario is in his 3rd campaign with Spurs.
He stated following the game that he had to accept the criticism.
"The second score was a error of my own, I accept accountability for it," he said.
"My aim was to clear the ball far and I just struck the ball in a bad manner. That made an even bigger mountain to overcome."
He stated receiving jeers "is part of football".
"I'm a big man, what can I say?" he continued. "We cannot be affected by the situation in the stands. Supporters have the right to do as they see fit.
"It's on us to stay more calm, to focus on ourselves. We are missing in composure and poise to overturn results. Today is a poor loss and it's tough to accept."
'It Shocked Me Nobody Went Back to the Goal Line'
In spite of Vicario's error, it was not an simple goal for Harry Wilson to convert.
In fact it was the second longest-range Premier League score of the campaign – following Adams' forty-three point three metre strike for Bournemouth against Sunderland, which interestingly too came on the same day.
Wilson stated he was "a little bit surprised" that he still had an open net to target.
10 moments elapsed between Vicario coming out of his box and the midfielder shooting – which was five seconds following the clearance.
"It seemed to me like the keeper was away from the box for ages," he remarked.
"It amazed me not one of the back four went back to the line. When not one of them defended the net, my eyes sparked somewhat.
"[Destiny] Udogie fell too, which allowed me a bit of additional opportunity. Then it was all about attempting to achieve the correct contact and place it on target. I had a good feeling, as soon as it came off my boot, that it was heading in."

Booing While We Are Still Playing Is Completely Unjustifiable - Frank
Although the keeper's mistake dominated coverage, this was an overall poor day for Spurs to continue their home ground woes.
This was their tenth home loss of the year in the league, a shared club record matching 1994 and 2003.
They still have home games against the manager's old side the Bees and champions Liverpool to come before the close of the season.
Only one of those victories have occurred after the manager replaced Ange Postecoglou in the off-season.
"When you're behind 2-0 following six minutes, there is a huge challenge to overcome," stated the boss.
"When you're in a poor run, everything seems to work against you too – the first was a deflected attempt, the next is a mistake from Vic.
"The outcome leaves us in a position where we have lost an additional match. Each fixture has a single narrative, this game we were defeated in the early stages.
"We just need to continue striving. The second half was significantly improved and with luck an aspect we can use to learn."
Spurs have lost 4 consecutive at home London derbies for the initial time in the Premier League.
Furthermore they are averaging 9.5 attempts and three point two shots on target per game in the division – their lowest rates on file in a one campaign (since at least 2003-04).
Former Cottagers midfield player Danny Murphy commented that Frank has to endure the criticism.
"He's got take the criticism," Murphy said. "He has accepted a high profile job at a major football club with enormous anticipation. There is pressure and responsibility that comes with that.
"The performances at home have been poor and they have to improve {quickly|
