Loyal fans of Ariana Grande are demanding that a individual who leaped a barricade and touched the actress during yesterday's Wicked: For Good launch be detained or expelled from Singapore.

A widely shared video reveals the Australian man shoving aside camera operators and lunging at Grande while the actors made its way down a yellow carpet accompanied by supporters.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo promptly pulled the shocked performer away from Mr Wen, who was observed being escorted out of the event by event staff.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "released after being arrested", though court documents revealed that he was scheduled to attend court on Friday morning. It is uncertain if he was formally accused.

History of Disruptions

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Controversial Figure", has disrupted a concert or event. His Instagram profile includes videos of him disrupting other high-profile occasions, including jumping on stage at the artist's Sydney performance in earlier this year and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers concert in the area last year.

"Steps should be implemented taken against him as this is clearly a legal violation," stated an Instagram commenter, in a response to a video Mr Wen shared of his behavior.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" a different Instagram user wrote.

Followers Express Concern Over Grande's Well-being

Many supporters blamed Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had revealed suffering from PTSD after a terrorist explosion at the conclusion of her 2017 performance in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and wounding numerous individuals.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" said one more response on Instagram.

A number of attendees also criticised event staff at the Thursday event for not being vigilant enough; while others requested social media platforms to block Mr Wen's videos.

Reaction and Premiere Information

In videos spreading on the internet, Grande appeared startled when she was grabbed by the individual. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen consoling her while Mr Wen was escorted away by security.

Grande has not commented on the incident, and the premiere activities carried on uninterrupted.

Many of supporters had assembled in a crowd of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good international launch in a Singapore venue, including some who had waited for as long as a significant duration before it commenced.

The film, to be released on 21 November, is the follow-up of a two-part version of the well-known stage show Wicked, which centers on the unlikely friendship between two contrasting witches.

The show itself is a spin-off of the classic children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the character Glinda Glinda, was decked out in a rosé sparkling outfit at the event while Erivo, who portrays the wicked witch, wore a sleek black dress featuring roses.

They were joined by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the most successful film of 2024 in the UK, and earned ten award recognitions, earning several for excellent wardrobe and production design.
